I'm Vicki Miller
I am a strong advocate for chiropractic and acupuncture care, as I believe in their abilities to support natural healing and overall health & wellness. The best part of my job is having the opportunity to meet patients, listen to their stories, and witness the positive impact our office has on their lives!
My personal journey with chiropractic care
Unlike many who grew up with regular chiropractic visits, my interest in holistic health practices began in my twenties after receiving my first massage, a gift from my husband. The massage therapist, Teresa Schalois, happened to be one of the best in her field, and I left the session feeling amazed and inspired. This experience sparked a desire within me to pursue a career in holistic health. I eventually enrolled in school to become a Certified Massage Therapist, and after graduating, I had the privilege of working with hospice patients in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, offering them the healing benefits of massage. Additionally, I joined Van Horn Chiropractic, an established practice, where I thoroughly enjoyed collaborating with the chiropractor to help our patients feel their best.
Presently, my life revolves around my family. I have been happily married to my husband, Rob, for 24 years. We have twins who attend Crestview High School, and our older daughter will be heading to college this fall. Rob serves as a full-time fireman for the City of Van Wert and is also a grain farmer near our home in Convoy. Given his demanding schedule and our desire for me to be available for our children, I made the difficult decision to step away from my role as a Massage Therapist in 2013. It was a challenging choice because I loved my job, but I knew it was the best decision for our family.
However, my passion for helping others achieve their health goals and feel their best never waned. During this time, I became a Certified Herbalist and continuously educate myself on various topics related to health and wellness. I am an avid learner and believe in constantly expanding my knowledge to benefit my family and the community.
I first became acquainted with Dr. Nygren when I was searching for a chiropractor closer to home and had an interest in acupuncture. From the moment I started receiving care from Dr. Nygren, I was impressed by her adjustment techniques and the amount of time she dedicated to each appointment, ensuring that I never felt rushed but genuinely cared for. As my children grew older, I began taking them to see her as well, and eventually, my husband made the switch from his former chiropractor to benefit from acupuncture too. I have enthusiastically recommended Dr. Nygren to countless friends and family members, though I've lost track of the exact number!
During my leisure time, I love exploring new recipes in the kitchen, baking bread, and experimenting with fermentation and herbal creations. When weather permits, I find joy in tending to my garden. Additionally, I enjoy walking, reading, and cherishing moments with my family. They can attest to the fact that I am quite content with staying home, as my motto is "create a life you don't need a vacation from," and that's exactly what I strive to achieve.
Joining Dr. Nygren and Jenn in the office is an exciting opportunity for me, and I look forward to meeting all of you!
